‘There’s No Way To Fix Me’: Britney Spears Reveals Her Dad’s Conservatorship Damaged Her Permanently, Says Only a ‘Miracle’ Can Cure Her
Britney Spears has been living a good life for a few months now after years of misery. The Princess of Pop was under years of strict conservatorship by her father Jamie Spears who exercised absolute control over his adult daughter who was also a mother herself.
Needless to say, when Spears finally won her freedom she went all out and celebrated being free in everything she did – from getting married to posting herself however she wants on social media. Her consistent Instagram posting has divided some of her fans somewhat. While some stand abjectly in her support, some find it problematic.
Britney Spears’ impulsive Instagram posting
Spears’ posting habits on Instagram should be judged with her past as a background. It’s a way of sharing and coping for her. However, some people still don’t refrain from posting negative comments on her Instagram feed.
Maybe to address these negative comments or to merely put it out in the world and share her feelings, the forty-year-old singer recently posted a rant addressing her mental health on social media.
The trauma is permanent
Even if Britney Spears is free of her conservatorship, a lawsuit involving her and her father drags in court. Therefore, it can’t be said that her problems have come to an end. Spears’ message on Instagram addresses all the traumatizing experiences in her past and even her present.
“It’s crazy, social media. Everybody’s life seems so perfect and when I post things I think most of the time I’ve been utterly and completely embarrassed of my past … and who can forget those documentaries??? So yes, I do try and post me looking my best or what it may seem to be the good life. Well the truth is, my spirits are better but I will forever be traumatized by my past experience for life. There is no way to fix me, my emotions and my sensitivity … therapy, all of it !!! I think I will need some sort of miracle for my emotions. My life is by no means picture perfect. I cry myself to sleep most nights. I’m insecure as hell. I don’t know how to have good posture unless I’m on camera, and I need to go to a school just to be taught how to freaking walk. I know you say “but you are a performer”. Well that’s it !!! It’s an act on stage. In real life, I have no clue and I’m working on that”.
Society’s insensitivity towards Spears and clear disregard and disrespect for her self-expression and her mental health are a sad reality and we wish Spears nothing but health and happiness.
