Ending a marriage is never an easy decision for any couple. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are ending their marriage of 12 years. They also share a 10-year-old son Tennesse James Toth. They announced it on Instagram through a post that read-
“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together. Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
However, the news of the couple’s split came just two days before their 12th marriage anniversary. The Election actor and Jim Toth met at a house party in early 2010 and fell in love. The couple then got married in 2011. The actor-turned-producer credits her husband for his crucial role in her production journey.
The Wild Actress On Her Headline Making Arrest
The critically acclaimed actor made headlines in 2013 for her disorderly conduct toward a police officer. Jim Toth was suspected of driving under the influence while Witherspoon was with him. The actor appeared in an episode of Jameela Jamil‘s podcast I Weigh with Jameela Jamil and openly spoke about her 2013 arrest. The Wild actress went on to say-
“It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”
The actor was charged $123 as a fine and Jim Toth was ordered to attend an alcohol education program and perform 40 hours of community service. Reese Witherspoon was embarrassed for her disrespectful behavior towards the police officer and apologized profusely. The actor, producer, entrepreneur, and social activist is known as one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.
