Ever since they came together in the bond of holy matrimony, they have been at loggerheads with the other royals members of the monarchy. Being the first member of color to be associated with the royal family, Markle has been through a lot. And naturally, the relations between her and the folks at Buckingham Palace have broken down.

Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, there were a lot of tussles within the family, which culminated in the two of them stepping down from thwir royal duties as senior members of the British royam family in 2020. The couple shifted to America, starting a new life with their children. They currently live in Montecito, California with their two kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.

If their conduct is to be trusted, they are not looking to take a step back and want to continue their lives here. They have even decided not to go to the royal Christmas celebrations at Sandringham for this reason only. Meghan Markle is very clear about not looking to move backward. The split from the family was not easy. She would like to keep it that way.

Their presence might dampen the Christmas celebrations

According to royal biographer Angela Levin, the young couple won’t be missed either. They have made their desire to abstain from the first Christmas since Queen Elizabeth II’s death clear after they RSVP’d “no”. Levin added further, “Harry and Meghan aren’t coming which I think will be a huge relief for the rest of the family.”

She spoke at length about why their absence was a blessing in disguise for all people concerned. She said,

“The family will want to make it a very positive day after the queen’s death. And I think the Sussexes’ presence would most certainly dampen that.”

No one was looking forward to having the whole family in a single place following the queen’s demise.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ticket to the celebration could be in jeopardy

Their rating in the royal family is going to take a hit following the release of the docuseries

A big reason behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle abstaining is the Netflix documentary that is going to be released soon. The docuseries will detail what the two went through in the course of their stay in Buckingham Palace. Angela Levin said, “It could be a case where the royals don’t want them there after the documentary.”

She further added,

“It’s very interesting that they tried, especially Harry, very very hard to get it out for after Christmas. It makes me feel that they could very well attack the monarchy again and be very nasty about the king despite the fact that he lost his mother.”

It really sounds like that documentary would have ensured anyway that they were not welcome at the celebration. They just avoided the humiliation of having their invitation rescinded.
