American actor, Alec Baldwin is one of the Oscars hosts who had put his grievances forward regarding the payout of the glamourous gig. He hosted the 82nd Academy Awards alongside Steve Martin in 2010. While the ceremony was praised for their great teamwork, he told in a 2013 interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he would “never” be hosting the ceremony again.
He continued to slam the super-popular ceremony by stating,
“They don’t pay you any money; the Oscars pay you like chicken feed. It’s all about the honor of helping to extol film achievement. But they’re going to have a tough time.”
While he did not exactly reveal the payout, he was not exaggerating about being underpaid for hosting one of the biggest nights in Hollywood. Even Kimmel, who is about to host the ceremony for the third time revealed the exact amount he got paid for doing that event.
Jimmy Kimmel Once Revealed Oscars’ Hosting Gig Payout!
The 55-year-old TV host, Jimmy Kimmel plays in huge paychecks however his Oscars gig won’t be adding much to his earnings as he revealed his exact paycheck during a conversation with Oscars co-host Wanda Sykes on his show last year.
The comedian opened up about having a reality check when she was really excited about hosting the gig.
“I realized, out of all the jobs that I have, this one is actually gonna cost me money.”
On stating that she would be making “a scale probably,” the former shared that he “got paid $15,000 to host the Oscars.” The 95th Academy Awards will be held in a few hours with the TV presenter back to host the gig.
