“They haven’t asked me my opinion”: Oprah Winfrey Addresses Meghan Markle Attending Royal Coronation After Blasting Family on Her Show to Gain Sympathy
After constantly throwing the Royal Family under the bus, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been eagerly waiting for their invitation to King Charles III’s coronation ceremony. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had previously slammed their family members during the tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. After repeatedly slamming the Royals and giving up their royal responsibilities, Winfrey was shocked by the Sussexes’ decision of attending the event. Although she jokingly presented her opinions, they seemed satirical and honest.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared on CBS network’s tell-all explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021. Sitting down with the 69-year-old host, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle spoke about the discrimination and injustice they faced from the Royal Family. With a wide range of discussions mainly orchestrated by the Sussexes to slam the Royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle even stated their decision of stepping down from their Royal responsibilities.
After throwing the royals under the bus and releasing a mémoire, nobody ever expected the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to decide upon attending King Charles III’s coronation. Although the entire world seemed shocked, Oprah Winfrey seemed unfazed by the Sussexes’ decision. Winfrey shared her thoughts, “I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family. That’s what I think. That’s what the bottom line,”
It seems, despite the Sussexes trying to escape the Royal Family and thus settling in the US, Winfrey deliberately used the term “family” to allegedly point out the hypocrisy of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. After slamming the Royals with different speculations, the decision of attending the coronation ceremony seemed sanctimonious on the Sussexes’ end. Thus Winfrey further stated with a smile, “They haven’t asked me my opinion.” Oprah Winfrey subtly ended the conversation with what seemed like a low-key satire.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Invitation To The Coronation Ceremony
The relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family has been strained ever since the two decided to leave the UK and settle in the US. Further, slamming the Royals in an interview with Oprah Winfrey and writing a mémoire entirely poisoned the relationship between the Sussexes and the royals. However, to fulfill his responsibility as a King and a father, King Charles III sent an invitation to his son and daughter-in-law to attend the coronation ceremony.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes previously mentioned “I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.” but did not disclose Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s immediate decision. However, later on, Paul Burrell, a source close to the disgraced royals states, “Prince Harry will attend King Charles’ Coronation alone as Meghan Markle isn’t brave or strong enough to be there.”
Although nothing has been confirmed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, speculations of their willingness to attend the ceremony are making headlines. People are shocked by the news of the Sussexes even considering the invitation after openly slamming the Royals.
