“They prey on the innocent”: Cardi B Brands 87-Year-Old Dalai Lama a “Predator” For Asking a Kid to S*ck His Tongue
The spiritual leader Dalai Lama who is often referred to as His Holiness is being dragged on the internet because of a controversial video, and Cardi B is leading the pack. Although many deemed the Dalai Lama video as an innocent act, many were disgusted. Cardi B, a rapper and a mother of two shared her concerns on Twitter after watching the said video.
The bizarre video contains footage of Dalai Lama kissing and requesting a young child to “s*ck his tongue” during a regular meet and greet in his Dharmashala in February. The people around were seen taking all of it in a playful manner and laughing about the incident. This raised concerns all over the internet and people are now calling out, the said predatory behavior.
Cardi B calls out Dalai Lama on Twitter
Cardi B took to social media, after the circulation of a creepy video of Dalai Lama asking a boy to “s*ck his tongue”. As she is a mother herself, she now feels responsible to make people aware of the cruel world and urges everyone to look out for their kids. There is no doubt that the rapper has a hugely influential platform on her hands, and thus she takes it very seriously. She warns people and calls the world not safe for children. She further discussed the topic of child predators and advised them to constantly check on their children.
She said,
“This world is full of predators,–They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money, power & our churches.”

Cardi B requested parents to educate themselves as well as their kids on this matter after the controversial video took rounds on the internet and gained a huge amount of attention. The Money rapper also reshared many people’s posts who shared the same sentiments as her. Although this isn’t the first time the great leader is being called out for his actions, he was quick to issue an apology.
Dalai Lama apologises
At first, it is seen in the video that the kid who was there for Dalai Lama’s blessings, asked the leader for a hug. The video after that got progressively creepier. The leader then asked for a kiss on his cheeks and then proceeded to ask the boy to s*ck on his tongue by sticking it out. The little boy seemed hesitant and ended up not following through on his command. Many say, sticking one’s tongue out is a Tibetan culture, the very place where the great spiritual leader is from. On the other hand, many called him a predator for his behavior.

After facing heavy backlash regarding the matter, the representatives of the famous figure decided to issue an apology for his actions and deemed the incident as a misunderstanding.
The statement said,
“A video clip has been circulating that shows a recent meeting when a young boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug.–His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused. His Holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident,”
Many still stand by their leader, but the outrage caused started a much-needed discussion regarding the dangers of the world and made many people aware of the current situation in the world.
