Anthony Carrigan claims his medical condition will help him in Superman: Legacy

Anthony Carrigan is known to be suffering from Alopecia. For those unaware, Alopecia is an autoimmune condition that leads to unpredictable hair loss. Despite it not being ideal for any human being, Carrigan believes that this medical condition will actually help him with his role in Superman: Legacy.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Carrigan discussed a variety of topics including his role in James Gunn’s upcoming movie. The American actor spoke about how he tries to find something to relate to the character he plays and said:

“With all of my characters, I really try to find some sense of authenticity and truth in what I can relate to about the character. With Metamorpho, this is a character who was almost cursed with his powers and thought that he was freakish in terms of what he looked like and that’s something I could totally relate to because of my alopecia.”

Anthony Carrigan believes Alopecia made him a stronger human being

While many people would be terrified of losing their hair, Anthony Carrigan on the flip side took it as motivation to work even harder. During an interview with Page Six, the American actor recalled how people questioned his ability to book roles because of his baldness. He said:

“I was told that I wasn’t attractive anymore. I was told that I wasn’t going to book roles. It was something that I was so terrified of hearing from a young age. It gave me the passion and lit a fire to prove them wrong. And essentially that’s what I’ve been doing.”
