“This is a dream come true for us”: BLACKPINK Beats BTS at Coachella 2023 as K-Pop Band Creates History After Breaking Spotify Charts
Blackpink witnessed their iconic moment as they made history at the Coachella music festival. The K-pop group was invited to perform and headline the Coachella music festival on 15 April 2023. The crowd went crazy when Jennie Kim, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose performed some of their hit songs. They kicked off their performance with their massive hit song Pink Venom and then lit up the stage with Kill This Love, How You Like That, Kick It, and Whistle.
There were other headliners in the lineup that included Rosalia, Boygenius, $uicideboy$, and Kid LAROI.
Blackpink became the first K-Pop Band to Headline the Coachella music festival
In 2019 Blackpink was seen performing for the first time at Coachella after they rose to prominence with their back-to-back hits. This year the girls made history as they became the first K-Pop band to headline the Coachella Music Festival. The K-Pop group girls had donned black and pink sparkly outfits for the night. Blackpink became the most-streamed female band on Spotify.
The K-Pop girl group also sang their hit solo songs. Jennie sang You and Me, Lisa performed Money, Rose slayed the stage with her song Gone, and Jisoo sang Flower, her most recent single. During Blackpinks performance the excitement and craze among the fans for the K-Pop group were evident. The girls slayed the stage with their electrifying performance. Blackpink was additionally viewed by 2.96 million viewers from around the world via a YouTube live stream.
Blackpink’s Rose said it was a Dream come true for them to perform at Coachella
The K-Pop girl group was seen full of vim and vigor as it was a significant moment in their career. While talking to the Crowd about their performance at Coachella Blackpink’s Rose said,
“This is a dream come true for us to be headlining one of the most loved festivals in the world.”
The crowd was thrilled after their performance and as per reports Blackpink’s 2023 Coachella performance is being called one of the best performances at the event. Fans of the girl group were eagerly waiting for their performance. By headlining the event as the first K-Pop girl group, Blackpink has beaten many other bands like BTS and Little Mix.

The Korean girl group made its debut in 2016 with the song Whistle, which quickly became a massive hit. According to reports, their song Ddu-Du Ddu-Du was the fastest K-Pop group song to reach 100 million views in only 10 days. Blackpink became the first K-Pop girl group to appear on the cover of Billboard in 2019. Blackpin’s YouTube channel has 20 million subscribers, making them the first K-pop group to reach that milestone.
