“This is the rat?”: Idris Elba Could Not Believe MCU’s Captain America Chris Evans Would Freak Out Like a Child After Seeing a Rat in His Trailer
[ez-toc]Chris Evans, who plays the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s hero Captain America, has a huge fear of rats! Yes, you read it right. The actor who’s extremely lauded for his appealing physique and body holds a deep fear of rats, which was discovered by his co-star Idris Elba.
Acclaimed actor Idris Elba and Marvel star Chris Evans collaborated in the 2010 film The Losers, which was adapted from a comic book. While filming their movie, Elba revealed that The First Avenger star encountered a rat in his trailer, and he freaked out of fear, which amused the Beast star.
Idris Elba Publicly Disclosed Chris Evans’ Fear of Rats
Idris Elba is an incredibly renowned and multitalented star in the world of entertainment who collaborated with fan favorite actor Chris Evans lauded for his perfect looks in the 2010 film The Losers. While sharing anecdotes about their film and challenges Elba initially found while shooting for the action-comedy with the star-studded cast, he also revealed his co-star Chris Evans’ fear.

In an interview with BET, Idris Elba shared an incident in which he couldn’t stop laughing after watching the Avengers star freaking out because of a rat. The Dark Tower star recalled:
“I remember Chris Evans had a rat in his trailer. This is a man that is playing a soldier and he’s got muscles. This dude fell out because of this rat. It was crawling around the bed and s*** and this dude was freaking out. One of the guys that owned that trailer was like, ‘This is the rat?’ and picked it up with his bare hand [and] Chris screamed.”
Watching Chris Evans suddenly flipping out, Elba added: “I freaked out because of the story. I was laughing so hard.” This incident turned out to be a memorable anecdote from the sets of The Losers in which the actors played the role of team members, each with a unique skill and abilities who formed a formidable force striving for justice.
Idris Elba Claims The Losers is Cooler Than A-Team
In the star-studded movie, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Clay, said, “The Losers, that’s us. A select group of soldiers. Framed for a crime they didn’t commit.” And this is what Idris Elba emphasized when his movie was compared with A-Team, which was out at the same time as The Losers. In an interview with Hey You Guys at the MCM Expo, the Three Thousand Years of Longing star said:
“I honestly feel that our film is a little cooler, in a sense that it’s not a big burger brand. The Losers is relatively new to everyone. The A-Team has to live up to expectations. Those characters are iconic, so we’re going to watch that movie thinking, “You’re not Mr. T’. With the losers, we don’t have that, even though I do have a Mohawk.”
The comparison came out of the similarities that emerged from the comic book between A-Team and The Losers, for which Idris Elba described the differences in his movie stating it is cooler and not like the story followed by A-Team.
Even Chris Evans stated during an interview with Collider that:
“It really has nothing to do with the comic book, really. It comes down to…it’s a movie. I look at as a movie. Whatever it comes from whether it comes from a novel, whether it comes from a previously made film; it’s about this movie.”
While explaining what made him decide to take the role of Jensen in The Losers, who’s a communication specialist for the team.
