“Nothing was ever right”: Eddie Murphy Spent Over 10 Years to Bring Beverly Hills Cop 4 to Life Until a Plot Twist Made It Possible
The Beverly Hills Cop Universe is back again to solve all criminal cases with Beverly Hills Cop: Alex F. The franchise is back with another installment to surprise fans after almost 30 years. Eddie Murphy spent over 10 years bringing Beverly Hills 4 to life until a plot twist made it possible.
And it isn’t just Murphy who is returning but his colleagues Billy Rosewood and John Taggert are also back in action with him.
What made Beverly Hills Cop 4 come back in action
According to Murphy, there is always a case coming, and Alex is solving it with his rash decisions. He saw it as a generic thing that might not have excited the fans as much as they wanted it to. Murphy and the producers wanted to show how Alex, over time, has evolved mentally as well as emotionally. According to ScreenRant:
It was always like he’s back on a new mission. This has happened, that happened and he’s back to solve it.
Alex comes back to Beverly Hills when he gets to know that his estranged daughter Jane’s (played by Taylour Paige) life is threatened. He must do everything to save his daughter’s life while mending the cracks in their relationship. According to Murphy, this was the best plot twist that brought Beverly Hills 4 back to life.
What was missing but it’s not anymore
The fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise is back after almost three decades, and this time it’s not just about solving crime and taking action. While talking to ScreenRant, Murphy explained how there were so many elements missing in the franchise and how it was the only reason why the fourth installment got late. According to the source:
Now he’s back not just to fight with robbers but to reconcile with his daughter and all that stuff
When the producers added the element of Alex getting married and how he has a child but has a horrible relationship with his daughter, that’s when both actors and producers thought that they had gotten hold of the missing element.
The first trailer for ‘BEVERLY HILLS COP 4’ has been released.

Although the installments were always jam-packed with action, suspense, and crime that attracted the audience, they lacked a much-needed plot twist. But this time, the franchise is back with an interesting plot twist that will hook the fans to their screens.
This time, it’s action and crime with a pinch of emotional touch. The much-awaited movie will stream on Netflix on July 4th.
