Fans of the MCU received some exciting news with the reveal that director Sam Raimi is in negotiations to take Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The original director Scott Derrickson left the project a couple of weeks ago, and it’s a significant development after that. Also, Marvel Studios is planning to begin the process of filming in a few months.

If Raimi wants to hit the release date next year, he needs to do a lot of passionate work in a short period that includes a lot of ground running. Also, another significant contribution to Marvel Universe would be Raimi’s familiarity with Steve Ditko. Fans are super excited about the possibility of bringing the Spidey universe of Tobey into the Marvel Multiverse.

For the Doctor Strange sequel, we still don’t know whether Raimi will make any substantial changes to Derrickson’s roadmap. On the other hand, Marvel Studios has already agreed on a plot and needs to look out on a few details.

The synopsis for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reads: “After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Dr. Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone. But an old friend turned enemy seeks to destroy every sorcerer on Earth, messing with Strange’s plan and also causing him to unleash unspeakable evil.”

People were shocked when Derricks left the project. Though there were no ill feelings between the two parties, he cleared the fact.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be out on May 7, 2021.
