Tom Cruise is gearing up for his upcoming film Mission Impossible 7. The actor has been part of the franchise for decades. The first movie, Mission: Impossible, came out in 1996, and Cruise established the character Ethan Hunt for the audience. The Mission: Impossible series marked a significant turning point in the 60-year-old actor’s career.

With Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One set to release next month, the movie recently gathered positive reviews from critics after its first screening. Pom Klementieff, who plays the villain character in the seventh edition of the franchise, shared some insights into her fight sequence with Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise‘s career underwent a huge change thanks to the Mission: Impossible series. In the 1996 release of the first Mission: Impossible film, the actor portrayed Ethan Hunt. Six more films have been added to the franchise since then, and a seventh is on the way. The 60-year actor has worked with many villains in the franchise, and being a hero, he has been ruthless towards them. But Pom Klementieff shares a different experience while shooting fight scenes with the Top Gun actor. 

The actress plays a dangerous character named Paris who is partnered with the movie’s main antagonist, Gabriel, played by Esai Morales. In a scene filmed in Venice, Paris fights Cruise’s super-spy Ethan Hunt, and Klementieff requested her co-star to kick her in the belly during the fight scene. Cruise instantly refused her request. 

The Guardians of the Galaxy actress referring to her gust said, “I kept telling him to just kick me here. I was squeezing abs. [I said], ‘You can just go for it.”

Recalling Cruise’s response, Klementieff added, “He was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ I was like, ‘But it’s going to help me!’ But he wouldn’t do it.”

The 37-year-old gave a glimpse of her character Paris. She described her as an evil persona, someone who destroys everything in her way. She is a murderer, a renegade, very skillful, and yet very lonesome.

Director Christopher McQuarrie chose Klementieff for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One after watching her in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 as Mantis.

The much-awaited release of the seventh installment of the multi-billion dollar Mission Impossible franchise is garnering media attention. Another significant lure for viewers of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One is the intriguing ensembling cast.

Tom Cruise the heartthrob of Hollywood is joined plays Ethan Hunt. He is joined by an amazing cast for the seventh edition of the franchise. The cast includes Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, and Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis. Hayley Atwell’s character in the film is an interesting one and has gathered critics’ attention after the first screening of the film. 

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will release in theaters on July 12, 2023.
