Tom Cruise Reportedly Part of Negotiations During Actors Strike, Wants Studios to Guarantee AI Won’t Steal Their Jobs

As Hollywood’s strike concerning various issues is in progress, the actor reportedly joined the negotiation session and urged the studios to hear out the issues of the union.
The biggest issue concerning the union is of artificial intelligence possessing a threat to their jobs. The actor advocated for the union’s concerns being heard about the AI issue. Cruise reportedly brought up stunt performers and the fate of theatre films after the epidemic.
Even though SAG-AFTRA periodically permits individual performers to engage in these negotiations, it appears that Cruise reportedly was the only actor of his caliber to take part in this round. The Mission Impossible star reportedly urged SAG-AFTRA to consider allowing actors to promote their film despite the strike.
Despite Tom Cruise’s reportedly participation in the negotiations, the performers’ union and the AMPTP were unable to reach an agreement till July 12, when the union’s package of film and television contracts expired. On July 14, the union started staging pickets and refusing to work at studio lots and corporate offices in New York and Los Angeles.
