Tom Hanks Has Never Been Asked To Appear In A Marvel Cinematic Universe Film
Tom Hanks says he has not been asked to be a part of the MCU:
Tom Hanks has stated that he has not been approached to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Hollywood legend is presently appearing in Apple TV+’s science fiction film Finch. For decades, he has been one of the industry’s top stars, starring in films such as Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, and the Toy Story franchise. Hanks recently reflected on some of his career accomplishments, including A League of Their Own, Cast Away, and Cloud Atlas, as his favorites. With the recent release of Eternals, the MCU has entered Phase 4 post-Avengers: Endgame. The most recent film introduced the immortal squad that has been looking over the universe. Phase 4 has also introduced the multiverse’s continuous narrative in the Disney+ series Loki, which is set to pick up more steam in the next Spider-Man: No Way Home. As always, there’s a lot of conjecture regarding the MCU’s future and prospective casting choices.
In an interview on the SmartLess Podcast Hank Talked About Not Being In The MCU:
For example, Hanks, for example, has stated that the studio has not approached him about acting in an MCU film. During an interview on the SmartLess Podcast (via The Direct), which was hosted by actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, Hanks was asked whether he would be interested in working on a Marvel movie. The cinema star responded, perhaps unexpectedly, that he had never been given a role in the mega-franchise, claiming that the company had not sought him out. Hanks joked that if he were cast in the series, it would most likely not be as a powerful role, saying:
“Here’s the problem… First of all, they’ve never called me once. Nope, never. And I think that if one of these days they will, they’d say, ‘Is there any way you’d consider playing a secretary of defense?’ (laughs) Ya know, a guy who comes and says, ‘Please, help us Ultraman, we can’t survive!’ I’d be one of those guys. I don’t get to play the punk…”
There are often rumors that Actors like Keanu Reeves will join the MCU:
It’s possible that Hanks may make an appearance in a future Marvel film. Hanks has a lengthy working history with Disney, which will continue next year when he plays Geppetto in the live-action Pinocchio remake. The number of celebrities who haven’t acted in a superhero picture is shrinking by the day, yet Hanks remains one of Hollywood’s greatest names. Given how swiftly the MCU is developing, he could get a call from Kevin Feige soon. There have been several rumours that A-List performers like Keanu Reeves may join the MCU. And the franchise has not shied away from enlisting the services of some of Hollywood’s biggest names. A wide array of actors have starred in various Marvel films, ranging from well-known stalwarts like Robert Redford to newcomers like Florence Pugh. So it’s a bit surprising that a name like Hanks’ isn’t even considered for a supporting role in the vast Marvel universe.
