Fans have been thrilled after witnessing how Loki transformed from being the God of Mischief to becoming the God of Stories in Disney+ Lokis season 2. While talking about the time slipping, hair flips, and Loki 2‘s finale, Tom Hiddleston accepts his downfall to Scarlett Johansson‘s iconic character Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in The Avengers while employing her combat skills.

During the interview with BBC, Hiddleston also shares that time slipping was thought for him, to which the host humorously praises him. The Thor: Ragnarok star talks about his costume in the latest season and how he wears slippers on it. Hiddleston mentions:

“We knew where we were going to get to at the end…got to be in slippers but it was kind of about being sort of monastic and humble and all his previous costumes are very armored and elaborate and kind of gold plated and exhibitionist or demonstrative and this was about something more utilitarian and sort of this solitary lonely figure at the end of the time so it’s almost about vulnerability in a way”.

The Avengers: Endgame star shared that filming the time-slipping scenes was quite intense and he lightheartedly mentions doing “jerky movements” that put Tom Hiddleston’s body and extreme tension.

We witnessed Tom Hiddleston’s Loki destroying the Temporal Loom and taking great responsibility ahead, however, this could have been completely different from the original ending according to Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Loki Season 2 on Disney+ The season 2 director shared the draft that was planned earlier for the finale.

“There was a draft of the script of the very end, the very end. Something wasn’t sitting right with both of us about it. And the issue was, this draft didn’t have Loki destroying the Loom. He saved the Loom from imploding and then ascended the throne. We all knew something was up, we just didn’t know what. ‘Cause it was like, well he’s trying to save the Loom, he gets the throne, all of this.”

However, the makers realized that Hiddleston’s character required a massive sacrifice and took on an even bigger responsibility of the loom, and the ending that we saw was arguably the best that showed the natural journey of the selfish character transforming into the God of Stories.
