The first season of Loki opened the multiverse of MCU, and the second season suggested endless possibilities in the multiverse with Loki preserving every alternate timeline. However, a deleted scene from Loki Season 2 shows hints at what could have been and will be possible for one Thor: Love and Thunder character.

Thor: Love and Thunder has been one forgettable film among the recent installments of MCU. The movie was heavily criticized for its forced humorous tone despite a serious plot with a fierce and dark villain, Gorr, played by none other than Christian Bale.

However, the film introduced a few new elements, like properly introducing gods in MCU with Omnipotent City. It also introduced Eternity along with none other than the son of Zeus, Hercules, played by Brett Goldstein.

In the mid-credits scene of Thor 4, Zeus was seen telling Hercules to induce fear and respect among people as he believed humans didn’t look up to Gods anymore. It indicated a potential showdown between Thor and Hercules in Thor 5 as Zeus wanted revenge for his attack on him, but the movie’s poor performance seemingly eclipsed all possibilities.

However, a deleted scene from Loki Season 2, shared by Variety, paints a different picture. In the scene, Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki is shown talking to Owen Wilson’s Mobius, mentioning everyone who saw him as a “problem.”

He names Volstagg, Hogan, Fandral, Laufey, Bor, Heimdall, Jane Foster, Erik Selvig, Darcy Lewis, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Donald Blake, “who Thor pretends to be when he goes to Earth.”

However, he also named some characters who are not yet introduced, like Amora/Enchantress and Absorbing Man. At the very end, he mentions, “Hercules — another big guy. I was a big problem for him.”

Judging by his words, Loki and Hercules seemed to have a history worth watching. But since this was mentioned in a deleted scene, it can’t be considered MCU canon. However, it also shows that Marvel did have plans for Hercules, and it definitely raises hopes for fans for a future encounter between the two.

Although Thor: Love and Thunder created doubts about Thor’s future installments, it can’t be denied that the God of Thunder’s story arc is not complete yet and the character has lots of potential to change the future of MCU, both with his powers and storyline.

As of now, Thor 5 might not be considered a near possibility but fans have been speculating on the possible storylines and coming up with their own theories and ideas. Talking about his fictional future fight with Thor, Goldstein said on Happy Sad Confused podcast,

He’s a big boy. But does he have massive muscles? Yes, he does. Wait, hang on a second. Does he have incredible unbelievable charisma? Yes. Does he have the ability to look like a god? Yes… Body hair. Maybe that’s the way I beat Thor… Yeah, he’s not a swearer. He wouldn’t know what to do. It’d freak him out.

However, talking about his future appearance in MCU in an interview with Variety, he said he has “no clue what’s happening” with Marvel. As of now, there has been no update from the studios for Thor and Hercules’ future.

In the comics, Thor and Hercules have crossed paths quite often. They even had equal fights, although Hercules has mostly been an ally to the God of Thunder. Hercules might become the toughest opponent for Thor in MCU and perhaps in the future, they might team up to fight a bigger threat.
