Tony Stark’s death as Iron Man was a tragic moment for millions of fans. After a tough battle for the Infinity Gauntlet, Stark attached the stones to his armor. When he snapped his fingers, he wiped out Thanos and his army, saving the universe. However, using the stones took a huge toll on him, draining his energy and life. That’s when we lost our beloved superhero.

But now, a new plot twist in the Disney+ series Loki might change how we see this moment. Yes, you read that right. This surprise could lead many fans to rethink the significance of Iron Man’s sacrifice in the ever-evolving Marvel storyline.

In Loki, a series that delves into themes of identity, free will, and reality, we are introduced to the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This massive agency monitors the main timeline of events and ensures everything happens as planned. In a shocking revelation, the TVA revealed a vault full of Infinity Stones, treating them as mere paperweights.

That whole scene doesn’t make sense. There weren’t extra Infinity Stones—Nemesis created only seven stones in all of existence. According to Marvel Database, Nemesis was a single being before everything started, so there can’t be a multiversal version of it.

When Nemesis ended its own existence, it created reality, multiple universes, and the Infinity Stones. Six of these stones ended up in the main timeline, and the seventh one appeared in a different reality called the Ultraverse.

TVA’s Stones Spoil MCU Sacrifices and Drama

Robert Downey Jr. is coming back to the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. If you think this casting changes Iron Man’s legacy, remember that its impact was already weakened by Loki‘s idea.

It makes all the tragic deaths and sacrifices, like those of Tony and Loki, seem pointless. The TVA just casually showed off the powerful Infinity Stones, which had caused so much trouble and even led to the death of Loki’s brother Thor.

If the Stones are so easy to get, it makes the whole MCU seem less important. It also takes away from the drama and significance of Thanos’s quest for ultimate power. Tony’s sacrifice was a powerful moment because it showed how much was at stake to save the universe.

If the Infinity Stones are just scattered like lost keys, Iron Man’s sacrifice loses its impact. These stones are crucial to the story, and their value shouldn’t be downplayed for convenience. Even with the multiverse opening new doors, it shouldn’t weaken the original lore.
