Top 10: Most Anticipated Movies of 2021
Movies and TV shows are a big part of our life. And with the pandemic ongoing, people all over have turned to the world of entertainment to keep them sane; as we live isolated from the rest of the world. The number of Netflix and Prime subscribers have gone up the roof, and it still continues to do so every day.
Many movies got delayed because of imposed lockdowns and what not during this time; but as time moves forward, the entertainment industry has also tried to get back on track; to bring its audiences more and more material for consumption.
2020 was a difficult year, but the movies that managed to get released did pretty well; even though most of them did not get a theatre release. Now we are almost halfway through 2021, and though the ways have changed a little, people have not foregone watching movies in any way.
2021 is a year that seems to have quite the list of anticipated movies to be released in the near future. We have already had movies like Godzilla vs Kong, which has gone on to do pretty well business worldwide. So here are 10 movies that are due to be released in 2021, that are some of the most anticipated of the year:

Eternals
Marvel’s Eternals just released a little snippet from the upcoming movie; and people are already bending over backwards in anticipation of watching this extravaganza. The story of immortal beings who have shaped the world it is today for millennia is filled with a star studded cast. Directed by Chloe Zhao, who recently won the Golden Globe Award for Best Director for the movie Nomadland; Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Richard Madden amongst others.

Dune
This is not the first time that Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel is being adapted into a movie. The David Villeneuve directed movie stars Timothee Chalamet, who plays the main protagonist Paul Atreides. Initially Dune was set to release in November of 2020, but due to the pandemic, the release was delayed by almost a year and is now set to have a theatre release on October of 2021.

Black Widow
The Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson has been years in the making. And after being delayed multiple times due to the pandemic; the movie is now set to release on July of 2021. Natasha Romanoff is a pretty complex character, and for the fans to get to know her beginning with this movie is going to bring in a huge crowd. Black Widow hopefully will be released on Disney+ streaming channel, if not theatrically.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
The third instalment of the Tom Holland starring Spider-Man movie is all set to release this year. Marvel released a short video clip a couple months ago, confirming the movie’s title after many a debates; and that in itself has the fans in a frenzy. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be returning along with Holland; but as a treat to the fans – the previous incarnations of Spider-Man – Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also be a part of the movie in some capacity or the other.

The Suicide Squad – 2
The second instalment of The Suicide Squad from the DC franchise, this time directed by James Gunn is also all ready to be released later this year. Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman return to their roles of Harley Quinn and Rick Flag along with Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller in this Task Force X movie; this time joined by others like Idris Elba, John Cena, Nathan Fillion and a whole host of other big names.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Marvel’s Shang-Chi was announced along with a whole host of Marvel future projects back in the 2019 San Diego Comic Con. With Simu Liu as the male lead who plays the role of Shang-Chi, the son of the ‘real’ Mandarin and the next in line as the leader of the Ten Rings. The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is set to release early September of 2021.

The Matrix 4
The fourth instalment of The Matrix movies is currently in post production, with Lana Wachowski at the helm once again. Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss will be returning to the role of Neo and Trinity after more than 18 years, along with other stars like Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris and Priyanka Chopra joining the cast. The movie as of yet is set to release during Christmas time this year.

The Disney movie starring Emma Stone as the famous villain from The Hundred and One Dalmatians – Cruella de Vil; has received rave reviews after the trailer for the movie was released. Emma Stone looks amazing as the younger version of Cruella, ready to take on anyone that come her way. This live action Disney movie on the life of a young Cruella is set to release on May of 2021.

The King’s Man
The King’s Man is set as a prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Starring Ralph Fiennes, this movie is set in the early 20th century when the Kindsman Agency was first set up; and works as a secret organization to save the world from high risk threats. Fiennes will be joined by the likes of Gemma Arterton and Harris Dickinson; with the movie set to release on December of 2021.

Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise movie is based of a Disneyland ride; where a river boat takes its traveler through a jungle filled with various dangerous elements. The movie stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as two people who travel to the Amazon is search of a tree which has unbelievable healing properties. The movie also stars the likes of Edgar Ramirez and Jack Whitehall; and is set to release on July of 2021.
