Tory Lanez Faces 22-Year Prison Sentence, Possible Deportation from USA after Being Found Guilty of Shooting Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez was once surrounded by controversy as his vile deeds pushed him to court. The rapper was accused of shooting an American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion. Fortunately, she didn’t face any serious injuries following the incident.
However, Lanez was found guilty of all the charges in 2020 and faced a 22-year prison sentence. The trail that started three years ago has finally concluded. After a series of accusations and denials, it was declared that he would get up to 13 years in prison and may face deportation to his native Canada.
Why was Tory Lanez convicted?
In 2020, renowned rapper Tory Lanez was accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Both celebrities belong to the same field and have been acquaintances for several years. It was reported that Lanez and Stallion fell into an argument, which later took an ugly turn as, following the heated conversation, Lanez got so exasperated that he shot Stallion on her feet.
The rapper was charged with the allegations of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The victim claimed that the grotesque incident occurred after an argument that got uglier as they both criticized each other’s music careers. During her testimony, Stallion explained that there was some misunderstanding during the conversation, which resulted in a heated argument. She said,
“I feel like that really rubbed him the wrong way. He kept yelling and cursing.”
Stallion was saved as she did not face any life-threatening injury. However, her wound was severe enough that she needed surgery to remove bullet fragments from her feet. Stallion was appreciated for her bravery by the L.A. County District Attorney, George Gascón, as she stood up for herself and remained courageous throughout the terrifying incident.
Tory Lanez condemned all the allegations
