All three of them, after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, ventured into different roles and have been doing well in their respective careers. Rupert Grint appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s apocalyptic psychological horror movie Knock at the Cabin, and during the promotions, he recalled his time on the sets of Harry Potter.

Rupert Grint appeared for an interview with GQ while promoting the movie Knock at the Cabin and answered some of the questions asked by the fans online. One of the questions was fans being curious about his friendship with Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular character in the eight movies.
Grint replied to a fan who mentioned that they simply wondered what their first impressions were about each other. The fan added that they seemed like they got along well. The actor said,
The actor explained that one would never know how it’s going to be, especially when they are pushed together. He added that multiple screen tests with a lot of potential for Harry Potter and Hermione. Grint recalled that the three of them were in a room together, and it just seemed easy, like they had known each other forever. He noted that they had fun.
In an interview with Vogue conducted around the time of the Harry Potter reunion, Emma Watson went on to reveal that she often speaks to Grint and Radcliffe. She explained that the two boys hate WhatsApp and phones in general when asked if they have a group chat and added that they just try to stay off electronics, but they speak individually. She noted,
It makes the heart of a Potterhead warm that after all these years, the three lead stars share the same love and affection for each other the way they did before.
It’s also very surprising in today’s time for young actors to get along so well that they just understand each other when today even the most mature person in the room cannot seem to see everyone with the same eye.
Rupert Grint admits his time as Ron Weasley was ‘quite suffocating’
In an interview with Bustle, the actor opened up about the thin line between his real self and the character he played on-screen. He said,
The actor who started at a very young age went on to describe that filming and press tour schedules of the movies were pretty grueling. Grint explained that they’d film all year and then they’d promote it the rest of the time, adding that it was quite suffocating.
Despite the schedules being grueling, Rupert Grint found success, popularity, and lifelong friendships on the set of Harry Potter, which he says he’s grateful for. He added that being a part of the Harry Potter franchise was a really unique experience only the core group really knows.
At the time of HBO MAX’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts Special, Rupert Grint mentioned that it was a good opportunity for all of them to reflect on everything and just say how crazy the time was. The actor noted that it’s always nice to look back.
Grint now says he lives a normal life, and every time he’s stopped in public, he smiles for a picture with anyone who asks.
