Tucker Carlson started working for Fox News in 2009. In 2012, he debuted on Fox and Friends Weekend, and in 2016, he launched his own program, Tucker Carlson Tonight. His final show was on Friday, April 21, 2023, according to a statement released by the Rupert Murdoch-owned company.

The American conservative political commentator was abruptly fired from Fox News, after reports surfaced that 92-year-old Fox owner, Rupert Murdoch had forced him out. The choice to fire Carlson was made shortly after the network reached a defamation settlement with the maker of voting machines, Dominion.

Carlson hosted his last episode on Friday, telling his viewers he would return on Monday. However, he was reportedly taken by surprise by the network’s swift decision to fire him. While he has not yet commented on the incident, Fox News said in a statement:

Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and before that as a contributor.”

But it’s intriguing to wonder how wealthy the former Fox News host is right now, following his surprising exit from Murdoch’s company.

Details Of Tucker Carlson’s Net Worth Explored

Fox News may have decided to cut ties with Tucker Carlson because of the two lawsuits that his former senior booking producer, Abby Grossberg, has brought. Grossberg had claimed that the network and the 53-year-old former prime-time host were encouraging a hostile work environment.

Carlson began his career as a political commentator on CNN’s Crossfire in 2000. In 2005, however, he was fired following a contentious on-air argument with Daily Show host, Jon Stewart. After that, he briefly served as host of a show on MSNBC, before joining Fox News in 2009 as a contributor.

After serving as a guest host on Fox News several times, Tucker Carlson took over Bill O’Reilly’s position as host of the former nightly talk show, Tucker Carlson Tonight in 2016. O’Reilly was fired following a number of s*x harassment claims, and Carlson took over for him.

Carlson’s hosting position on the network was extremely well-liked by right-wing viewers. And when it turned into the most popular show on Fox News, it propelled him into a position of power. He reportedly received a $6 million yearly salary as a result of his popularity. Additionally, he inked a lucrative book deal around the time of his promotion at Fox News.

The deal, which reportedly cost $15 million, involved several books. Carlson reportedly earned money that went toward building up his $30 million net worth, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, citing celebrity net worth.

His Fox News’s Exit Might Affect His Net Worth

It almost seems inevitable, why the network chose to cut ties with the host, given that Tucker Carlson was the subject of numerous lawsuits filed against the company. However, his termination from the network could have an impact on his yearly income and, consequently, his net worth.

Even so, despite his involvement in contentious legal battles, many people—especially his hard-core fans who tuned in every day to watch his show—were shocked when Fox fired him. The program attracted large audiences, which eventually brought in millions of dollars in revenue for the cable channel.

The network announced that until they choose a permanent anchor, a rotating cast of TV personalities will host Tucker Carlson Tonight at its usual time slot, 8 p.m. ET.
