The trailer for Venom: The Last Dance has been released, which introduces the main villain of the movie, Knull, the dark god of the symbiotes. The introduction of the Knull storyline is reportedly helping Venom to stand alone as a character apart from the Spider-Man franchise. Reports have suggested that the Knull storyline can be a way to bring Eddie Brock into Avengers: Secret Wars.

Venom: The Last Dance: Can Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock appear in Avengers: Secret Wars?

Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final movie in the Venom trilogy, will once again see actor Tom Hardy as the beloved character, Eddie Brock. Ardent fans have been waiting for the concluding film in the trilogy, and the newly released trailer gives an idea of what it will be like. The studios describe the movie’s plot as Brock and Venom are on the run after being chased by their respective worlds and reach a point where they have to make a choice, bringing down their last dance together.

Interestingly, the new trailer not only increases the anticipation amongst fans but also introduces Knull as the mega villain of the movie. Created in 2018 by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, Knull’s comic book history starts way back, as one of the oldest life forms in the Marvel Universe. According to Games Radar, Knull was born of the brief window of eldritch darkness that exists between the end of the Sixth Cosmos and the dawn of the Seventh Cosmos as a being of unending, undying darkness and night.

The Knull was chosen by the Celestials to serve as the King in Black, a position in the cosmic hierarchy that balances out the Beyonders. However, Knull rejects the position and wages war against the Celestials to revert the entire Marvel Universe to the primordial darkness that he was born from.

Beyonders are cosmic entities who dwell outside the Multiverse and are seemingly connected to the original 1985 Secret Wars and the 2015 sequel, which is the inspiration for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s because, in 2015’s Secret Wars event, Beyonders are responsible for nearly destroying it.

But only Doctor Doom could resist them, as he saved bits and pieces of various multiverse worlds and bring them together. Reed Richards used the powers that was transferred to him to recreate the Multiverse as the Eighth Cosmos.

Now the publication noted that 1985’s Secret Wars is one of the best Marvel cross-overs where every major Marvel hero and villain appeared, and the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars is going to be very much like the same.

Thus, it can be said that the connection between Knull, Beyonders, and Secret Wars gives some hope, that Eddie Brock/Venom could make an appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars. One thing that needs a little reminder is the fact that the 1985 Secret Wars is the story that introduced the Venom symbiote as a new costume for Spider-Man.

I’m so excited about this one because we’ve gone much bigger. If the mission statement is commercial, blockbuster, action, and superhero movie, how can we imbue a sense of something fun and different? What’s going to entice people that they have a memory, they have a moment, they have an event? This comes from us, who are caring about this.
