Villains Who Were Better In Movies Than Comic Books
Fans are always interested to see how some of their favorite villains in comics are turned into films, just as they are with famous superheroes. In certain situations, the films discover an intriguing new perspective on a classic villain, like the Joker in The Dark Knight.
However, there are a few cases where the films improve on the villain, providing the ultimate portrayal. Whether it’s because of the actor playing the role or because a one-dimensional bad person is given more depth, these villains are even better than their comic book equivalents.
5. Nebula
In the comics, Nebula is introduced as Thanos’ granddaughter who is horribly tormented and tortured by the Mad Titan. As a space pirate, she maintains a lengthy relationship with Thanos and other cosmic creatures in the Marvel world.
The Guardians of the Galaxy films smartly retained Thanos’ attachment to Nebula’s tale, which became an important element of her journey in the MCU. Nebula has progressed from lackey to hero, forging a bond with her sister Gamora, joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, and even becoming an Avenger.
4. The Mandarin
In the comics, The Mandarin was a villain with a tumultuous background. He is an old and powerful character that wields the power of 10 magical rings, each with its own unique set of skills.
While the source of his talents is maintained in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the so-called Mandarin is given a much more extended story. He is created to be the father of Shang-Chi, Wenwu, whose aim in the film is comprehensible though misplaced.

Ego the Living Planet is a comic book character who most fans probably thought was too strange to ever make it into a film. He is a living planet with the ability to move through space. Ego is one of the most formidable cosmic adversaries, although he was never a particularly compelling figure.
James Gunn was the ideal director for embracing the oddity of Ego from the comics while also fleshing him out as a villain. After being revealed to be Peter Quill’s actual father, Ego transforms into a very fearsome bad guy, with Kurt Russell providing a fantastic performance.
2. Loki
As Thor’s mischievous and jealous brother, Loki is another comic-book villain who has become memorable. While the source material produced some memorable moments for Loki, the MCU has elevated him to the status of one of the finest cinematic villains of the twenty-first century.
The compelling portrayal of Tom Hiddleston helped to immerse spectators in Loki, and they were excited to follow his path from the villain who aspired to conquer Earth to someone who could find forgiveness.
1. Killmonger
Erik Killmonger is a character who hasn’t been in the comics very much. According to his roots, he is a Wakandan native who was abducted from his land and blames King T’Chaka, therefore he seeks to usurp him and become king.
Aspects of this origin tale were used in Black Panther, although Killmonger is a far more complicated character. He is a young child who has been abandoned by his tribe and believes that Wakanda’s dominance in the world can liberate them. Michael B. Jordan’s stunning portrayal adds to one of the finest comic book villains of all time.
