Vin Diesel Might Have Lied About Future of Fast and Furious, Director Reveals the Truth Behind Fast X Trilogy Comments
American actor and producer Vin Diesel rose to fame with the Fast And Furious franchise. He has been the face of the billion-dollar action drama franchise ever since its inception in the early 2000s. The actor has been portraying the character of Dominic Toretto for decades that it feels he was born to play the character of the widely loved family man of Hollywood.
After the mammoth success of the tenth installment of Fast And Furious, Vin Diesel announced that the movie would be a continuation of the upcoming two chapters. However, after the announcement, the Fast X actor hinted that the Fast and Furious franchise would end up with a trilogy.
Director Louis Leterrier Breaks His Silence On The Vin Diesel’s Fast X Trilogy
Vin Diesel’s Fast And Furious movies are not only commercial hits at the box office but also a treat to the eyes taking us back to that one grand family of Dominic Toretto. The tenth installment of the Fast And Furious series saw its theatrical release in May 2023. However, debunking the exit rumors of Vin Diesel from the franchise, the actor announced the wrap-up plan for the action-drama series. The actor had mentioned that instead of a duology as previously announced, the billion-dollar franchise would end up with a trilogy.
During an interview with the media outlet Total Film, director Louis Leterrier provided an update on the announcement made by the actor. He mentioned-
“The one thing about Vin is like when he’s on a press line, he will say anything to get out of that press line. And I’m kind of like him and go, ‘Yeah, sure, we will go to the moon in the next one. Bye.’ And then you never forget!
He further continued-
” Obviously the next one is coming, and then yeah, one movie at a time. I think the one thing that Hollywood keeps reminding us is that it’s one step at a time, put one foot forward at a time. Let’s count our blessings. We’re very lucky this movie was well-received and well-loved, people went to see it in a movie theater and now they’re going to see it at home.
Director Louis Leterrier replaced Justin Lin, the brain behind the previous installments of Fast And Furious just a week before the production of Fast X was initiated. His dedication towards the project was quite evident at the box office as it went on to secure $719 million worldwide.
Vin Diesel And Louis Leterrier On The Characters Of Fast X
During an interview with the media outlet Total Film, Louis Leterrier and Vin Diesel spoke about the family-like environment on the set of Fast X. While talking about the character of Dominic Toretto, the director mentioned-
“It’s very strong. It’s so strong that we talk to each other every day till now, the movie’s been out for a few months. Once he comes on set, then we go really fast because we’ve talked about everything, we know every end goal of every character. We spent two and a half hours talking about every character but, Dom Torretto so then at the end I’m like, ‘We completely forgot to talk about Dom. But then obviously he knows Dom perfectly so we only need half an hour.”
Vin Diesel has been the face of the action franchise ever since it came into existence. His love for the Fast And Furious family needs no description. During a promotional event for Fast X, the actor said-
“It’s much more than just a fantastic actor doing a fantastic job, coming on set, being active, and embodying this character. He really carries this $7 billion franchise on his already massive shoulders.”
The compelling storyline and the star-studded cast of Fast X, include- Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Brie Larson, and the legendary actor Helen Mirren. With an IMDb rating of 5.8 out of 10, Fast X is the fourth highest-grossing movie of 2023.
