HBO and HBO Max emerged as a topper for having the maximum number of Emmys nominations beating the other OTT Giants like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, etc. This year HBO and HBO Max have scored  140 nominations, whereas Netflix has 105 nominations. Last year, HBO had 130 nominations and Netflix has seen a surge this year as it had only 129 nominations last year.

What is more surprising is that Disney+ is at the fifth position as it hoped for a better comeback with its new MCU series. Astonishingly, Amazon Prime stands at the sixth position which has made fans believe that HBO Max’s quality content is far better than other competitors’ quantity content.

Disney+ was expecting a better performance at the Emmy this year. However, amongst the long list of MCU series, Loki, Moon Knight, and Hawkeye could make it to the Emmy. Moon Knight has 8 nominations, Loki has 6 and Hawkeye has 2 nominations.

While talking to Variety, HBO’s content chief Casey Bloys said, “We are incredibly proud of all our Emmy nominees.” He later added, “This is a testament to the amazing talent in front of and behind the camera as well as our gifted programming teams. Their commitment to creative excellence continues to break through to audiences in a meaningful way.

Interestingly, Warner Bros. had altogether 155 total nominations that tally includes nominations for HBO, HBO Max, TNT, TBS, CNN, Discovery, and its other streamer. Speaking of the list, Netlfix stands at the second position with 105, Hulu with 58, Apple TV+ with 52, Disney+ with 34, and Amazon Prime Video with 30 nominations this year. 

The Emmy Awards will air live at ET/5-8 p.m. PT on Sept. 12 on NBC and the show will stream live for the first time on Peacock.
