During the promotions of his upcoming film, The Boys In The Boat, actor and director, George Clooney gave updates on his famous film, Ocean’s, trilogy. In an interview with Uproxx, the actor revealed that they have a script ready for Ocean’s 14 which will bring back the cast of 2007’s Ocean’s 13.

The Ocean’s trilogy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starred George Clooney as ‘Danny Ocean,’ the master thief.  The star cast also includes Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, and Don Cheadle.

The 2001 film, Ocean’s 11, received critical acclaim and became a commercial hit, grossing around $450 million at the box office. Followed by the first part, Ocean’s 12 (2004), and Ocean’s 13(2007), made box office collections of $362 million and $311 million respectively. Later, in 2018, a spinoff film, Ocean’s 8, directed by Gary Ross, hit the mark of collecting $ 297 million.

When Clooney was asked what Ocean’s 14 would be about, he replied “Well… I don’t want to call it that… I mean, the idea is kind of like ‘Going in Style.’” (Source: Uproxx)

Though the actor didn’t reveal much about the film, he said that they have a “really good script,” so they might “end up doing another one.”

Going in Style was a 1979 heist comedy starring George Burns, Art Carney, Lee Strasberg, and Charles Hallahan. It was directed and written by Martin Brest. The plot revolves around three senior citizens sharing a small apartment in New York City who unite for a heist. The film was later remade by Warner Bros. by the same name in 2017, which was directed by Zach Braff and written by Theodore Melfi.

Fans showed their excitement for the upcoming film of the franchise and tried to assume the plot of the coming installment. Some are suggesting new names for the film, while few fans anticipate Soderbergh to direct it.

A fan suggested naming the new film as “Ocean’s Buddies.”

However, there is no confirmation that the upcoming Ocean’s film will be directed by Steven Soderbergh as fans anticipated. Jay Roach will be directing the film and it will be written by Carrie Solomon, starring Margot Robbie and Rayn Gosling as Danny’s parents. Other than that,  the plot would be settled in the 1960s.

George Clooney started his acting in television on NBC’s medical drama ER, from 1994 to 1999, in which he played ‘Dr. Doug Ross,’ and received worldwide recognition for portraying the character. He also bagged two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his role.

The filmmaker got his breakthrough in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), followed by bigger projects like Batman and Robin (1997), Out of Sight(1998), Three Kings (1999) and The Perfect Storm(2000).

His stardom expanded when he worked with Soderbergh in the Ocean’s trilogy, which solidified his fandom worldwide. He has received two Academy Awards for his performance. One for Syriana(2005), and another for Argo(2012). The star has also received a BAFTA along with a Golden Globe Award for Argo (2012).

Clooney’s latest film, Boys In The Boat, is a biographical sports drama based on Daniel James Brown’s 2013 book of the same name. He is the director of the film and the screenplay is written by Mark L. Smith.
