Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa are back exactly where they began their careers. Right next to each other. The Alpha House star is joining his wife as her co-host on Live. The news came as a surprise for fans when Ryan Seacrest recently announced that he will be quitting the show this spring because of having a lot on his plate. And Consuelos was slated to be the man who will take his spot in the long term. But that might not be the case exactly. Apparently, Kelly Ripa might be considering the possibility of an early retirement.

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest joined forces in 2017. And the two hit it off right off the bat. Their rapport was there for everyone to see. They spent six successful years hosting Live!, a period which saw Live with Kelly and Ryan dominate all rankings. It is obviously going to be difficult to replace him.

But in Mark Consuelos, they might have the perfect man for the job. The father of three and Ripa might be able to recreate the magic with ease. The couple has what it takes. Fans of the ABC show were delighted by the announcement. But it seems like their joy is short-lived.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos started their careers together, on the ABC soap opera, All My Children. It was after meeting each other on the show that their relationship truly blossomed. Within a year of joining the show, the duo got married. Over the years, they have shared a strong bond and 3 children.

Coming together on Live! marks another landmark in their relationship. And Mark Consuelos shared that they plan to make this stint special; by making it their last one. The Generation Gap host said,

“We figured that since we started our careers together, we might as well finish them together. We figured the idea ‘what could possibly go wrong?’ is something we’d definitely like to explore. Now, we have the chance.”

Fans have been afraid ever since.

Kelly Ripa will be sorely missed if she retires early from Live

Kelly Ripa told Us Weekly,

“So many wonderful moments have happened while with ABC, so it only makes sense for us to come full circle and work together once again for the show that has given us so much joy and so many years of memories.”

And fans have been left worried sick ever since. The departure of the-52-year-old host would mark the end of an era for Live. Ripa joined the show all the way back in 2001 when she used to host Live! with the late Regis Philbin. Fans of the show have been accustomed to seeing her host for well over two decades. Seeing her leave is something that no one is ready for.
