As the CW series The Flash is coming to an end, many of the speedsters that exist will be gathering together to end Barry Allen/Flash. One of the most important characters in the story is the supervillain Reverse-Flash whose alter ego is the highly intelligent Professor Eobard Thawne also known as Professor Zoom.

The character is played by Tom Cavanagh in the series. However, the actor along with co-star Carlos Valdes left the show after season 7. But as the CW series comes to a close with its last season, it has come to light recently that Cavanagh will be returning with Reverse Flash to make a full circle.

The Flash is finally coming to an end with its last season this year. The finale will see various speedsters coming together to bring down Barry Allen/ The Flash ( Grant Gustin). And there is one character who is making its return after a long while. Tom Cavanagh who plays the Reverse- Flash/Professor Zoom, left the show after season 7 back in 2021.

Recently it has come to light that he is making a comeback for the series finale which will make a full circle. There may be various evil speedsters but Reverse-Flash has always been the most significant of all the villains.

Talking with CBR recently, Cavanagh opened up about his return. According to him while discussing the with  screenwriter Greg Berlanti, the latter had said,

“It should be Flash versus Reverse-Flash to end it. We should go out the way we came in.”

Furthermore, Cavanagh added that before leaving the show felt that there was no need for the Reverse Flash anymore. However, while he was questioning the significance of the character, even his son seemed to agree on the need for Reverse-Flash. All of this finally led to the decision for Cavangh’s return for the finale episode.

With a total of 9 seasons, CW’s The Flash will have its final episode titled A New World: Part Four this month. According to reports, the final episode will witness all the evil speedsters including Reverse-Flash, Godspeed, and Savitar under one roof with The Flash.

The scene will have all of them throwing insults and mockery at each other and with that a lot more will go down as everything comes to an end. The main objective of the villains as far as it is known is to wipe out Barry Allen’s bloodline and existence once and for all.
