Weirdest Avengers In Marvel Comics, Ranked

The Avengers are referred to as the Earth’s mightiest heroes in the Marvel Universe. It is because they are considered the most powerful characters of the entire franchise. Formed by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee in 1963, The Avengers has included over 125 members so far. Now, with so many Avengers on board, the comic world has seen quite different types of characters and members joining the team. While some of them are really strange, some of them are really weird. These are the 5 out of them –

Gilgamesh

Eternals #13
Eternals #13

The Forgotten One was formed after Inferno and included Gilgamesh as the reclaimed Avenger. With that being said, the Eternals had a rule of non-involvement with the humans, which apparently led Gilgamesh to get exiled from his people. However, in the later Eternal stories, Gilgamesh was seen with a modernized look that made him look quite weird. In fact, his behavior changed from what it was before when he showed up in the Eternals. Strange!

Jack Hart

Jack Hart was the son of an alien whose body got split into different colors and a new energy source was derived – known as the Zero Fluid. This fluid transformed young Hart into a playing card-themed character. Jack designed his suit in honor of his alien Contraxian father. As a result, he became the Jack of Hearts and spent some time in space. Soon, he got kidnapped by The Stranger before he could join the Avengers. Apparently, he started losing control over his powers until an explosion took place that killed his teammate, Ant-Man.

D-Man

Dennis Dunphy, AKA D-Man, got his strength and powers from the Power Broker before he finally got involved as a prominent wrestler with the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation. When he became the D-Man, he got an official ring name as well – Demolition Dunphy. After that, he started working alongside Captain America. He took inspiration from two of his favorite superheroes, Daredevil and Wolverine. As a result, he decided to upgrade his costume, and thus, he designed a hybrid suit that included both Wolverine and Daredevil’s costume features.

Mantis

It’d be quite underselling to echo that Mantis has a complicated relationship and history with the Avengers. This particular character was prepared ever since her birth to become the Celestial Madonna. She was prepared by the Priests of Pama so that she could bring the prophecy from the Cotati, the alien plant. With that being said, Mantis has been both a Guardian of the Galaxy and an Avenger for quite some years. Her empathic abilities, martial arts skills, and prophetic visions made her come up as a valuable ally. While she was extraordinarily skillful, her connection and destiny made her one of the weirdest Avengers ever.

The Machine Man

Dr. Abel Stack was working on a project to create robots for warfare. Known for being a prominent military scientist, he produced around 50 failed robots but X-51 was a massive success. This character first appeared in 2001: A Space Odyssey before joining the rest of the Avengers. It was popularly referred to as “The Machine Man” who later got the name of Aaron Stack. With that being said, the Machine Man is strange and weird for quite a couple of reasons. One of the prominent reasons is the fact that he describes humans as the “fleshy” ones.
