The infamous feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry began several years ago after three backups dancers left Swift’s The Red Tour early to join Perry’s Prismatic World Tour. This made her feel betrayed and she even released a song called Bad Blood that was reportedly aimed at Perry.

To retaliate, Katy Perry dropped a song Swish Swish which was reportedly a diss track aimed at Taylor Swift. Swift even subtly claimed that they are straight-up enemies in an interview. However, the long feud seemed to have ended in 2018 as they were spotted together. During the lockdown, Swift even sent a gift for Perry’s daughter.

Back in 2013, Taylor Swift was on her The Red Tour but soon she got the news that three of her backup dancers have left her tour early in order to join Katy Perry‘s Prismatic World Tour which was all set to kick off in May 2014. This left Swift heartbroken as she felt betrayed by her own backup dancers. This incident ignited the feud between them as Swift went on to drop a song that was reportedly targeted at Katy Perry.

Shortly after the incident, Taylor Swift made a song called Bad Blood which was reportedly a subtle dig at Katy Perry. Perry didn’t hold back as she also dropped a song called Swish Swish in 2017 that was a direct attack on Swift. Taylor Swift once said,

“She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘oh, we are just straight-up enemies’. And it was not even about a guy. It had to do with business,” to which Perry replied on Twitter, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”

Swift also claimed in a Rolling Stone interview that Katy Perry was “trying to assassinate my character” and the two continued to take jabs at each other over the years.
