Megan Thee Stallion released her highly anticipated documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, which goes on to highlight the animosity she faced from people in the industry. A lot of old videos, interviews, and TikTok videos were shown throughout the documentary for fans to understand the situation Stallion had been in.
One such interview was of Chris Brown, who, during a video stream with Adin Ross, said, ‘Free Tory Lanez’. This comes after Stallion accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot after a drunken argument. Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison and was charged with felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. Brown in his stream said,
These comments did not sit right with the fans back then, and now that the clip of the video was shared in Stallion’s documentary, fans are still not pleased. The comments from Brown do not settle with ease with fans because of his troubled history with the law. Brown had assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammys.
The Guardian reports that the singer has a long history of running into the law, including having a meltdown and smashing a glass window backstage at Good Morning America in 2011. Another incident includes a restraining order filed in 2017 by his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran, his ex-manager Michael M. Guirguis suing him in 2016, and more.
Stallion’s documentary goes on to highlight that she was facing a lot of hate from the people of the industry, especially after she opened up about being shot in the foot by Lanez. According to the Huffington Post, Thee Stallion has sued Milagro Gramz, blogger and YouTuber, for alleged cyberstalking and circulating lies about the criminal case involving Lanez.

The artist, who is regarded as one of the best in the business, not only became a topic of every discussion but also was heavily trolled and harassed online, which led to her feeling anxious and nervous about her safety. Stallion spent one month at a mental health retreat trying to heal from the incident that left her scared and scarred. In an interview with THR, director Nneka Onuorah shared,
The director also noted that wherever they filmed, she was with Stallion and stayed with her through the process. The 112-minute-long documentary explores the vulnerable sides of tough and strong Stallion and goes on to share the struggles and pressures of success, mental health battles, and of course controversies.
The artist in her introduction to the documentary, says she is just grateful to have her fans as her real supporters.
