What If…? Head Writer May be Leaving Season 3 to Join Ms. Marvel Season 2
What If…?, the animated anthology series based on the eponymous Marvel Comics series of the same name, is the fourth TV series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is produced by Marvel Studios and is the first animated series from Marvel Studios Animation. The first season of this series was released in 2021.
While What If…? does not add much to the narrative, it has some rather interesting take on the fan-favorite characters and thus, keeps fans engaged with the content. Not so long ago, the second season of the show was released, and now its head writer has revealed that she will not be working on the third season. This has led fans to speculate regarding the second season of Ms. Marvel.
What If…? Head Writer Might Joining Ms. Marvel Season 2
MCU’s venture into the TV show realm of media has helped the franchise greatly. In fact, What If…? Season 2 is the second TV series to have been released this year, and it has received a more positive response from critics and audiences than the movies released earlier this year.
What If…? explores alternate timelines in the multiverse which show how things would have been if certain moments in the MCU films had played out differently. The head writer of the first two seasons was A. C. Bradley, also the creator of the series.
Recently, A. C. Bradley took to her X account to announce that she will not be in the third season of the show. She shared a sneak peek of the third season of the show which she has claimed is the last piece of script that she has worked on.
Last #WhatIf tweet! This ep is my absolute FAVORITE and marks my final What If script. đ„Č
After season two, I made the decision to move on from Marvel. It’s been a fun ride, but it’s time for new adventures and mediums.
All my love to the cast, crew, & fans! #WhatIfS2 https://t.co/WcA4iS5f48

Bradley went on to say that while she had enjoyed working on the series with Marvel, she wished to explore other opportunities and hence, she is willingly breaking her ties with the franchise for now. For those unversed, she was also a writer for MCU’s Ms. Marvel. Currently, there is no news on whether she will also be a part of Ms. Marvel Season 2, so only time will tell if this truly is her last piece of work for Marvel.
What If…? Season 2 has Impressed Fans
The performance of MCU movies such as Ant-Man and the Wasp and The Marvels, both of which were released earlier this year, has not been too well. There might be a couple of reasons for this, the one that stands out of these is the superhero fatigue that has taken over the audience.

Considering the above, What If…? Season 2 has done remarkably well as it made a record with the highest rating on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes at 94% among all MCU projects released this year. The introduction of the character Kahhori has enthralled fans who are now eagerly waiting for her return in the upcoming episodes. In fact, some are already asking for live adaptation of the character.
What If…? Season 2 is available for streaming on Disney+.
