But a year since the fans thought that the days of her being controlled were a thing of the past, they are being forced to reconsider their decision. What prompted this rethink was a photo Spears posted on her return to Instagram. A topless one at that.
The horrors of the 13-year-long conservatorship
The Baby One More Time singer tied the knot with Sam Asghari on 9th June 2021, something that would have been unimaginable if she had been under her father’s conservatorship. But to date, the horrors of the 13-year-long ordeal continue to haunt her to the core. And it is only natural.
The 40-year-old singer has had to face a lot of problems as a result of the conservatorship. She could not live the way she wanted to. Making big life decisions? Is that something one can do? After the conservatorship was over, the princess of pop spilled details about how because of the conservatorship, she couldn’t marry a man of her choice.
Spears has been unable to forgive her father, Jamie, 70, and mother, Lynne, 67 for this.
Britney Spears returns to Instagram… topless
Just recently, the Toxic singer was heard criticizing her father and mother for treating her like a “f***ing dog” during the conservatorship. Not long after that, she deactivated her Instagram account. Fans were wondering why she took the call to do that. A lot of them were hoping that she would return to the platform soon. Which Spears did!
But her return prompted more questions than answers.
The Work Bitch singer, on her return to Instagram, posted a topless photo. The caption of the post read,
“Rose is two years old but what if time is an illusion!!!??? I’m wearing the same necklace TODAY that I’m wearing here!!!’
A rather cryptic caption. And fans in the comments section began to dig into the possible meaning behind the caption. One user wrote, “I think she is trying to say, that she feel controlled still, even after two years, and justice is not moving forward.” Another wrote, “That is what I’m reading… I hope she is ok though, like where is she? I hope she is doing what she loves and feeling happy. Nothing more.”
But no one was certain behind her decision to post the sultry pictures.

The pop singer followed the topless photo of her cupping her breasts, with a photo of her posing totally nude with flower emojis covering sensitive areas. This is something she often does. It is her positive body image that makes her share racy pictures on social media. And some people in her life have often complained about this situation.
Her former husband, Kevin Federline, and the children she shares with him, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16 are not big fans of these posts. Her ex even once said in an interview that he and the boys choose “not to see her” for the very same reason. He said, “(I) can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school (while their mother is constantly posting racy images).”
But her current husband, Sam Asghari has no qualms with her social media behavior. He has even defended her positive body image. When asked about the response of the kids she shares with Kevin Federline, he said, “Even if there was truth to her kids being ashamed of their mothers [sic] choices and positive body image they wouldn’t be the 1st teenagers embarrassed [sic] of their parents.”
The businessman has got the pop singer’s back. The hallmark of a good relationship.
