In a recent cover story with Marie Claire, Texas-born actress Eva Longoria revealed that she feels that her life in California is done. She explained,
I had my whole adult life here. But even before the pandemic, it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.
The actress who now splits her time between Mexico and Spain with her husband, José Bastón, and son, Santiago, said that the recent result of the presidential election confirmed that she made the right choice.
She said she doesn’t miss filming in Los Angeles but acknowledged that not everyone can be as lucky as she is. She mentioned to the publication.
I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness are for them.
Eva Longoria also clarifies in the interview that she wasn’t shocked by Donald Trump’s win, but what shocked her was the fact that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate can hold such a high-ranking office. She also added that the country is a scary place, and if Trump continues to keep his promise, it’s going to be a scary place.
According to reports by Realtor, Eva Longoria’s official move from the United States appeared to have begun in the early part of 2023. At the time, she had put her Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $22.88 million, which she later slashed to $18.98 million. The couple had paid $13.5 million for the mansion in 2017.
In an interview with Hello! Earlier this year she revealed that she purchased a villa in the Spanish town of Marbella after looking for a home for five years. She purchased the villa in early 2023.
