Johnny Depp is stealing the wins from ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor won the case of defamation he had filed against his ex-wife. The celebrity trial lasted for six weeks after the jury gave the verdict in favor of Depp. The  Pirates of the Caribbean star was rewarded with $10 million as damages, and his former spouse needs to pay it yet.

Johnny Depp won the famous defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard and is still on a winning spree. The Edward Scissorhands actor has been nominated for his studio album 18 alongside Jeff Beck in three categories for the 2023 Brit Awards.

The actor-musician along with the guitarist received nominations for their album 18 which included two of the actor’s original songs. They were nominated for the categories of best group, alternative/rock act, and album of the year. The nomination came after the star came into the headlines by winning the defamation trial.

With Depp acquiring successive wins, Heard is at the edge of losing her part in the movie Aquaman 2. This comes after the actress lost the case against her ex-husband. There are rumors that the role of Mera will be reshot by recasting someone else. According to Hollywood news, a source close to the production of Aquaman 2 said, ” Amber has not been completely cut from the film. She still has a small role.”

After her ex-husband, Johnny Depp’s six-week defamation trial, the actress part in the movie with Jason Momoa as the protagonist came under scrutiny. Amber acknowledged during the trial that she was unsure if her character would appear in the finished product. She also said that Warner Bros. decided to cut her off due to the legal battle with Depp.

Aquaman 2 is expected to release in 2023

Amber Heard starred as Mera in the Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment comic book movies. Her character was first introduced through the movie Justice League in 2017. The Hollywood star was actively called for the filming of the sequel. But after her ex-husband’s team called her a liar over her abuse claims against Depp, her communication regarding the follow-up stopped. An entertainment industry expert Kathryn Arnold confessed that the trial had no impact on Depp’s career but rather had cost the Aquaman star around $50 million in earnings.

The sequel of Aquaman named Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is stated to be released on 25 December 2023.
