British actor Alexander Westwood, who had appeared in several episodes of Netflix’s successful and popular show Sex Education, is found guilty of 26 s*x offenses against women and children. The 24-year-old actor started his professional acting career in 2018 when he appeared as a fireman in Outlawed. Since then the actor has taken up small roles on TV and in short films, including BBC’s Doctors.
The 24-year-old actor has denied all the allegations brought in court against him, but the jury has found him guilty. Westwood is going to reportedly face a long time in jail. His victims include minor girls and children, and according to reports, his youngest offense dates back to when the actor was 10 years old.
Sex Education actor Alexander Westwood convicted of s*xually abusing teenagers
According to reports by Deadline, Alexander Westwood has appeared in a total of 17 episodes of Netflix’s Sex Education, starring Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, and more. He appeared as one of the students at Moordale Secondary School.
Multiple sources revealed that the actor r**ed and s**ually assaulted the teenagers going to drama school as well as inciting one of to engage in s*xual activity. Prosecutor Andrew Wallace said in Wolverhampton Crown Court via BBC,
The prosecutor’s lawyer added that the actor had threatened the girl at one point to not tell the principal. Furthermore, the publication noted that his second teenager overlapped adding that the second girl had shared that they depicted a scene between a father and Greek mythology and was suggested by the actor to read the lines naked.
The victim no. 2 had mentioned that Alexander Westwood touched her breasts and v**inal area, and she felt disgusted and uncomfortable. She had stated that she only undressed because the actor kept going on about it, and she had texted him that she felt uncomfortable, but the actor assured her that it was just a part of acting.
During the proceedings, it was also revealed that a woman [victim number 3] was also s*xually assaulted between Sep 2020 and October 2021 and was reportedly pinned down by her wrists. The woman mentioned she could only bite him to get away from him.
AOL mentioned that another case of abuse included Westwood forcing a young girl for seven years to drink his urine. The lawyer mentioned in court and in front of jury members that if he lists out every instance of abuse at the hand of Alexander Westwood, there would be hundreds of charges.
Alexander Westwood stated he did ‘nothing inappropriate’
The SUN reports that the actor had denied all 26 counts of charges brought against him and wrote to one alleged victim, ‘I am sorry for acting in a predatory way.’ But Westwood went on to say that he did not mean predatory in a s**ual way before adding that his father made him write that.
The 24-year-old actor mentioned that he did make an inappropriate comment, but it was not s*xual. However, Wallace clarified that he had written the letters describing himself as predatory, adding that he wrote to his victim apologizing, and now he is accusing her of being a liar.
What surprised the audience and her victims was his smiling face in the mugshot, and he was described as a supreme manipulator who used his status to prey on aspiring young actors. A jury was told how the age of criminality in the UK is ten, and Westwood’s first three offenses were committed when he was 10.
The jury at the Wolverhampton Crown was made aware of how the actor’s s**ual offending had become a lifestyle after he developed a fascination with pornography. The jury found the 24-year-old guilty of 26 charges brought against him, which included another child, a boy, aged between nine and 10, and he will be sentenced in February.
The reports have suggested that Westwood showcased no remorse or emotion in the court while the entire courtroom was in a flood of tears listening to the teenage girls going through such a heinous traumatic time.
