At the start of this month, she found herself at the center of trans hate controversy. Discussions sparked regarding Mulvaney’s face on Bud Light beer cans.

Most conservatives called out the partnership and even expressed their wish to boycott the influencer. And recently, it has come to light that the beer brand’s sales dropped by 17% as of the latest data information.

This year’s controversy regarding Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney’s partnership brought out the influencer to light. More people have come to know about her since. For starters, Mulvaney is a transgender American actress known for her TikTok videos which chronicle her life since transitioning into a woman. She joined the platform a year ago, and since then her account garnered great attention.

Mulvaney is currently 26 years old. At the start of April this year, her video showing custom-made Bud Light beer cans with her face on them ended up attracting huge controversy.

Many criticized the marketing tie-up between a beer brand and a trans woman. The negative criticisms were reportedly mostly from right-wing conservatives. And even after weeks, the conversation has not died down around the whole matter.

After the controversy erupted, Bud Light sales went down by 6% according to research data. But more recently data from NielsenIQ and Bump Williams Consulting firms showed that the sales have further decreased by 17 percent.

It is not known whether the Mulavaney controversy is entirely to be blamed or not. However, the drop in sales has unquestionably followed the marketing partnership with the 26-year-old influencer.
