Who takes over the Doctor Strange mantle?
With Scott Dickenson bidding adieu to Marvel Studios months before Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is set to begin shooting. Marvel finds itself without a director once again, and they hope to get lucky as they did with Ant-Man director Peyton Reed.
When Alan Taylor left the Thor franchise, no one could have guessed that Taika Waititi would take over the franchise. The internet is wondering who will be chosen as director.
The following are some of the potential Directors that could take over the Doctor Strange franchise.
Nicole Kassell
Nicole is not a very popular Director. But she has been getting a lot of attention for directing two episodes of HBO’s Watchmen last year, including the final episode “Man walks into A Bar,” which many touted as the best episode of the series.
Rachel Talalay
Director of the 1955 comic book adaptation Tank Girl, is an excellent pick for Marvel. Of late, she has directed episodes for the CW’s Arrowverse, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Doctor Who.
Sam Raimi
It would be great to have someone who has experience with superhero movies. He has Evil Dead and the Spiderman trilogy under his belt and watching him bring his horror movie chops to the Marvel universe.
Gina Prince-Bythewood
Bythewood recently got picked for Silver and Black which is apparently in development hell at Sony. in the meantime, she directed the pilot episode of Cloak and Dagger, she is also in for the post-production on The Old Guard, which is based on a comic book by Leandro Fernandez and Greg Rucka. She looks like she will be a perfect fit for Marvel.
Jake Kasdan
Kasdan spent much of his early career making low budget movies like Zero Effect and The TV Set before transitioning into comedy movies like Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. However, in the last couple of years, Kasdan took on major superhits like Jumanji. His understanding of characters, coupled with his sense of humor could be refreshing for Marvel.
