‘Why are these fossils wasting their lives?’: Heartstopper Stars Crash Anti-LGBTQ Protest in Style, Wins the Internet
To mark the 50th Pride in London, thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies went on the streets of the capital to celebrate. Unfortunately, a group of people also decided to show up who opposed the celebrations. To annoy the anti-LGBTQ+ protestors, the cast of Netflix’s beloved LGBTQ+ drama Heartstopper – including Joe Locke, Jenny Walser, Kit Connor, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Corinna Brown, and Kizzy Edgell started dancing and loudly sang along to Whitney Houston’s hit “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” in front of them.
This year’s parade marks the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride protest
The Pride event in London gives an opportunity to queer people and allies to promote the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community as well as advocate for change. This year’s parade honored the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first Pride protest, which was led by the Gay Liberation Front in 1972.

Netflix’s Heartstopper‘s cast danced at the event
One youngster at the event approached the anti-LGBTQ+ group at the railings and tried to grab their sign. Suddenly, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston started playing on the speakers, and the cast of Netflix’s Heartstopper started dancing to annoy the protestors.
Joe Locke (who plays Charlie Spring in the show) and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft (Ben Hope) jumped around with rainbow flags wrapped around them, waved middle fingers, and blew sarcastic kisses to the hateful group.
Fans all over the world came together on social media to enjoy this hilarious sight
It was truly a sight to behold and Heartstopper fans appreciated the actors on social media

The whole cast was at the event
Almost the entire cast of Heartstopper was at the Pride event. Tobie Donovan (Isaac Henderson), Kizzy Edgell (Darcy Olsson), Corinna Brown (Tara Jones), Rhea Norwood (Imogen Heaney), and Jenny Walser (Tori Spring) were also marching through the streets with colorful face paint and vibrant outfits.
