The It Chapter Two star has three daughters: Hayley, 8, Harper, 10, and Hannah, 13. While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Hader shared that he went out for dinner with his kids at a restaurant, and the Guardians of the Galaxy star stepped in. Harper Hader, who was 9 at that time, told her father that she knew Chris Pratt‘s son.
While telling his daughters to stay calm as Pratt walked in, he was startled to know that his daughter knows the Thor 4 star. He added “I go, ‘Guys, don’t freak out, but Guardians of the Galaxy, you know. My daughters are like, ‘Oh, my God!”
Hader’s daughter then asked the actor if she could just say Hi to Pratt, to which the SNL star urged his daughter to let him eat. However, after finishing their dinner, Bill Hader with his daughter went to greet Pratt. The actor told Kimmel that:
“So, I walk over, and I go, ‘Hey, Chris. Sorry, but my daughter knows your son. And my daughter goes, ‘I don’t know his son! You wanted to meet Chris Pratt!… I go, ‘Why did you do that? And she was like, ‘I don’t know.’ And I was like, ‘You’re gonna make me so much money.”
The Trainwreck star said he wanted to “strangle her” from being embarrassed in front of an acclaimed actor but instead felt proud of his daughter for being herself and pulling a hilarious prank.
Bill Hader Shared His Experience of Raising Three Daughters
Though Bill Hader mentioned the prank as a “solid burn”, he has often mentioned being extremely grateful for his daughters. The actor married Maggie Carey in 2006 and shares three daughters. However, in 2018, the couple parted ways and finalized their divorce. But Hader and his ex-wife have made sure that their relationship doesn’t affect their daughters, and while talking about his kids, the 22 Jump Street star told People that:
“They are definitely taking after my wife, [now ex-wife] which is good. They’re just very smart and sweet and patient. And I’m not sweet, and I’m not that smart, and I’m really impatient!”
