We all remember and adore Halle Berry as Catwoman and now the actress has revealed if she will return as the character in the forthcoming Flash movie. While appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, the actress came to discuss her latest film, Bruised, and even talked about the Multiverse DC Comics tale. While we already know that two former Batmen are making a return for the series, it makes a lot of sense to bring more characters from the previous years. As Kimmel asked Berry about it, she simply replied, “If I can direct it.” In recent years, the audiences have seen Berry taking ownership of her projects. Her move to switch behind the camera makes a lot of sense as it allows one to exercise more control on your destiny.

As the discussion went further, DC fans got some insight about where Halle Berry thinks Catwoman went wrong. She stated that if she had more say in the scriptwriting, planning, and filming – the result could have been much better. The film has somehow gone on to become a sort of an underground cult in the past few years. Here is what she had to say:

“I wasn’t but it seemed like the people were,” she began. “You know, I really wasn’t. I worked really hard to be a Catwoman. I learned Capoeira. Like, I did the work. The disheartening part was I didn’t direct it, I didn’t produce it, nor did I write it. I was just the actress in it, right? But, for all these years I have carried, I think you know, the weight of that film and whatever success it had or didn’t have. Somehow it seemed like it was all my fault. But, it really wasn’t my fault. But, I’ve been carrying it. So, when that came up, it gave me a chance to sort of like stick it back.”

While also appearing in an interview with Jake’s Takes about her recent film, Halle Berry stated that Catwoman is one role that she wouldn’t mind revisiting and playing again.

She said, “I would love to direct Catwoman. If I can get a hold of that now, knowing what I know, having this experience, and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story. Bruise was written for a white Irish catholic, like a 25-year-old girl. I got to reimagine it. I wish I could go back and reimagine Catwoman and have a re-do on that.”

Berry went on to add that, “I would have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do, and not just saving women from their faces cracking off. You know, I would make the stakes a lot higher. I think make it more inclusive of both men and women.”
