Keanu Reeves is now one of the most popular Canadian actors in Hollywood. He has established himself among the action stars in the entertainment industry with his love for performing his stunts on his own. In his career spanning four decades, he has appeared in numerous action movies such as Point Break, Speed, and last but not least John Wick film series.

Keanu Reeves made his first action movie in 1991. He established himself as an action star then and has not let go of that reputation even at this age. By the looks of it, he does not plan to do so anytime soon and who are we to complain?

However, the question that we can’t help but ask is how he manages to do this even now. Thankfully, popular talk show host Stephen Colbert has us covered on this.

Keanu Reeves on How He Does Such Risky Stunts Despite His Age

Action is a genre that will never get old as far as movies are concerned. People love to feel that all-too-familiar adrenaline rush every time they see their favorite actor chase the villain across the screen or when the hero is dangling off the roof of a building with a single hand.

A couple of years ago, Reeves appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his movie The Matrix Resurrections. When asked how he manages to do these stunts, specifically Kung Fu, despite his age, The Devil’s Advocate star said:

“I love it. And I think because I love it so much, it [the age] doesn’t matter. The question. Recovery, you have to recover differently. You have to pay a little more attention to that. Okay. A lot of attention to that. And I can’t do what I used to but I can still do what I do. And you know, with experience comes efficiency.”

Every person has their own process of doing things. For Keanu Reeves, it appears to be the recovery that allows him to do his stunts with such precision even today.

During an interview with StarLifestyleKeanu Reeves revealed how ice helped a lot in recovering from all the training he did for the movie. He said:

“Ice is your friend. Ice water is your friend for inflammation and recovery. I highly recommend it. For John Wick: Chapter 4, I had a wonderful cold plunge from an ice company out of Australia. So, I got into that all the time, especially after training, after filming. If there’s no cold plunge, I get ice from room service, and I dump it in the tub. It really helps so much.”

All of that being said, Reeves does all of these stunts because he wants to. He loves doing it and so he does it with no qualms whatsoever.
