In the most recent issue of DC Comics’ DC vs Vampires, Wonder Woman revealed that Batman would be one of the best vampires in the DC Universe. Aside from fangs, a bloodthirsty nature, and an aversion to sunlight, he really does fit all the classic vampire criteria. As such, it is incredibly ironic and exciting that he remains one of few major superheroes who have not been turned into a member of their growing army.

The DC vs Vampires Roster

In the last roster of DC vs Vampires issues, superheroes and supervillains were either being slaughtered by vampires or have been bitten. Superheroes such as Green Lantern and Wonder Woman wanted nothing to do with the goings-on in this alternate universe. Thus, they left Earth. Batman and Green Arrow, on the other hand, remained at home. They saw this coming and have prepared their families to take up arms once they’re bitten to kill without remorse so that they can defeat vampires in a war that’s going to destroy humanity.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t deterred Dark Knight and Wonder Woman from convincing the rest of the League that Batman is the one who’s been bitten. Being a part of society’s night owl population and a vigilant known for his ability to vanish into shadows, Batman naturally turns out to be a prime candidate to be turned into a vampire. Likewise, vampiric Wonder Woman shares her own take on Bats’ condition in DC vs. Vampires #5 after he refuses an offer she and Green Lantern have made.

Batman Was One Of The First Vampires

Batman, who’s known for fighting against the undead in many of his comic books and movies, is actually one of the first vampires in the new DC vs Vampires edition. Green Lantern was also supposed to be turned into a vampire. But it did not happen because he is too closely associated with light-based powers in his mainstream media projects. For what it is worth, Batman seems to have this role makes much more sense given all of his previous encounters with bloodsuckers while fighting criminals and supervillains as well as Robin having so many chances to become a vampire but becoming a Nightcrawler instead should be celebrated by gamers everywhere.

With that being said, DC vs Vampires is only halfway through. This means there’s still plenty of time for Batman to reel in his fangs by the series’ end. Now that he’s been pitted against the vampires, it’s clear that he will bring a natural advantage to this series as the perfect vampire. Wonder Woman and other corrupted heroes will certainly keep trying their best to bite Batman. In the process, they’re going to realize that it’s no easy feat when Batman and Green Arrow fight alongside The Flash, Superman, and other members of the Justice League.
