Margot Robbie is living her best life – fashion-wise – promoting her forthcoming movie Barbie, which also features Ryan Gosling in a lead role.

The 33-year-old actress has portrayed Barbie Land’s most sought-after girl, Barbie, in a Greta Gerwig-directed live-action movie. Thanks to the demands of the character, Robbie got to wear flamboyant dresses inspired by the iconic doll. And she certainly loved that, considering she dons Barbie-inspired outfits at the movie’s promotional events as well.

Gosling, the Ken of the movie, hasn’t shown the same level of enthusiasm concerning Barbie-themed outfits during the press tour, and a question mark remains over viewers’ reaction to seeing The Nice Guys‘ private investigator in platinum bleach bold hair-style and pink outfits chasing Barbie in the movie. However, the 42-year-old isn’t bothered too much, as he’s certain this isn’t his most embarrassing role. That spot is still held by a part he played almost three decades ago.

Ryan Gosling Reveals the Biggest Regret of His Career

In his own words, Ryan Gosling defines the character of Ken as the one who acts as a medium for the audience to observe the awesomeness of Margot Robbie‘s character, Barbie.

There’s little doubt that Robbie’s portrayal of the beautiful doll is going to be considered awesome. But the same thing cannot be said about the male lead, who seldom gets the same love for going Pink. But Gosling isn’t bothered, as he believes the “worst” is already long behind him.

The La La Land star recently spoke to BBC Radio1 and gave his thoughts on characters or costumes he flaunted on the big screen that he isn’t too proud of. He said: “I was a hamster at one point.”

Robbie, who was alongside her co-actor, was quick to laugh, stating: “You walked into that one.”

The reference is from his two-year gig in Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club as a 13-year-old. The variety show was primarily focused on entertaining kids through Mouseketeers – a group of 24 kids who danced and performed musical numbers. Apart from Gosling, the likes of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake also featured in the show.

What Is Ryan Gosling’s Best Role?

Irrespective of how embarrassing wearing a Hamster costume was, the show helped the Canadian actor make his mark in the industry and opened doors for plenty of opportunities. The days of The Mickey Mouse Club are long gone and Gosling has since then played plenty of amazing roles.

But his best performance to date remains his portrayal of Dan Dune in Half Nelson (2006). He plays a history teacher by day and a drug addict and a club hopper by night in the film. He was nominated for an Academy Award (Best Actor) for the same.

His latest role as Ken is not going to be that serious, but he’ll certainly be hoping for a similar level of plaudits to fall at his feet. Barbie will hit theaters this Friday.
