Gwyneth Paltrow misses the 1990s
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and recalled that life was quite simple back in the 1990s. The actress explained that celebrities could get away with anything as people did not have cellphones back then and the fewer paparazzi benefitted them a lot. She said,
“It was great. I mean, talk about doing cocaine and not getting caught! Like, you could just be at a bar and be, like, having fun, dance on a table, you could — no camera phones, especially in New York.”
It seems like the actress misses doing drugs as she has expressed her opinion about psychedelic drugs being helpful in the future for treating mental health issues.
The actress misses hooking up with strangers
The Goop host further explained that since there were no paparazzi, it was easier for celebrities to party and hook up with random strangers. She said,
“Interestingly enough, there were no paparazzi. You could stumble out of a bar and go home with some rando and no one would know.”
Celebrities now can’t do all of this due to social media. They are constantly followed by paparazzi and all the movements, and people they’re meeting are covered by the mainstream media. Recently, the actress’ Netflix docuseries, The Goop Lab, faced criticism for offering some unorthodox tips, which are classified as risky by England’s National Health Service chief executive, Simon Stevens.
Gwyneth Paltrow believes drugs are helpful
In the past, Gwyneth Paltrow has explained that psychedelic drugs are very useful for treating mental health issues and will be a big thing in the future. She told New York Times in 2019,
“I think how psychedelics affect health and mental health and addiction will come more into the mainstream, I mean, there’s undeniably some link between being in that state and being connected to some other universal cosmic something.”
The actress has strong views about psychedelic drugs, but it was once revealed that she has never touched psychoactive drugs herself.
