“You know better than that”: Jennifer Lopez Shuts Down Reporter For Rudely Asking About Divorce With Ben Affleck Rumors
From their on-and-off love story to now ever-increasing rumors of divorce, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship has not been out of the spotlight for more than a minute. Paparazzi keep following them and photographing them in the middle of an argument, thus adding fuel to the fiery divorce rumors in the recent past.
The couple first started dating back in 2001 and even got engaged, only to call it off later on. Lopez and Affleck reunited in 2022 and started dating again. This time, they saw their story through and got married.
Jennifer Lopez Reacts to Divorce Rumors
Being a multi-hyphenate in its purest sense, Jennifer Lopez is more than just a singer. She is an actress, filmmaker, and even a proud businesswoman. Since she is such a beloved celebrity who has been in the spotlight for decades, her personal life has also been newsworthy for her fans. From her dating history to her marriages, people have often speculated and spoken about the singer’s status.
Recently, on a press tour to promote her upcoming movie Atlas, a journalist asked Lopez to comment on the divorce rumors that have been going around. Lopez married Ben Affleck in 2022 after a long time apart. The couple has been presenting a united front, but sometimes they fall through the cracks and are pictured in frustration with each other. A video posted on Instagram shows Lopez shutting down the journalist and saying,
“You know better than that.”
She said so with a smile but a stern demeanor, making fans wonder what she meant exactly with that statement. On the other hand, it’s disheartening to see actresses field such questions about their personal lives when they are there to promote their hard work and projects. Her co-star Simu Liu further urged the reporter to ask better questions. At the same time, Affleck has also not reacted or responded to the divorce rumors.
What is Atlas About?
Atlas is Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming science-fiction film based on artificial intelligence and its downsides. Lopez plays the role of a brilliant data analyst who finds herself lost when a troubling situation occurs. A robot goes out of control and threatens destruction unless someone finds a way to curb it. Directed by Brad Peyton, the movie is a bit different from the usual rom-com and drama genres Lopez is used to.
The singer-actress seems to be widening her horizons in terms of the genres she works with. Even at the premiere of the movie, Lopez seemed to walk the red carpet all by herself, which led to fans speculating why Affleck was not there to support his wife. She attended the prestigious Met Gala on her own too.
Atlas is set to premiere on Netflix on May 24.
