Travis Kelce’s father calls Taylor Swift a ‘down-to-earth young woman’
During a recent Kansas City Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos, at Arrowhead Stadium, artist Taylor Swift, who had appeared to cheer for her man Travis Kelce, met her boyfriend’s father, Ed Kelce. In an interview with People, Ed Kelce mentions that she is a very sweet, charming, and down-to-earth young woman.
Ed Kelce added that their first encounter was very genuine and he went ahead to share a story in regards to their encounter. He said,
“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her. We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”
He continued, “And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”
Ed Kelce noted that Taylor Swift is very smart and that it comes in the right way. He also said that he had gone back and heard some of her previous interviews to know what kind of a person she has been. Taylor Swift was also spotted bonding with Donna Kelce, Ed Kelce’s ex-wife.
Travis Kelce was terrified of Taylor Swift and Ed Kelce chatting
In a podcast interview with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce opened up about how terrified he was when he realized that his father was talking to Taylor Swift. He said,
“Taylor talking to Dad, you already know, you know Dad like I know Dad, this is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible, I felt terrible for Taylor.”
However, he added, “Our dad is the best dad in the world; he is a great converser or conversation, however, you want to put it. It’s where Jason gets his storytelling.” To which Jason added that no one can know where the conversation with their father would go mentioning, “It was nice because mom was getting quite a bit of the spotlight, so it was cool to see dad on the jumbotron, on the TV for a little bit.”
Taylor Swift was under the spotlight when she attended Travis Kelce’s game against the Chicago Bears and sat with his mother Donna throughout the match. The NFL player later revealed in the podcast what his mother and others thought about her:
“I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. You know, friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light. To see the slow-motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs Kingdom was all excited she was there — that s**t was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”
It seems like Taylor Swift has got the approval for Donna and Ed Kelce.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce giving their romance ‘a real try’
According to sources cited by People, the new couple in the town who have caught the attention of the public and the media are giving their romance a real try despite having insane schedules.
The source said,
“There’s not some looming date like, ‘Oh, she’s going back on tour’ and ‘his football schedule is getting crazy.’ They’ll figure it out. He’s said it himself, he knows what he signed up for with this attention, but they’ve spent time under the radar too. They’re giving things a real try.”
The couple who have the eyes of the public (Swifties) on them all the time have been spotted several times in public now including an impromptu appearance on Saturday Night Live. People have been rooting for the couple since they sparked romance rumors last month.
