The turning point in Miller’s Hollywood career was most definitely in 2004 when she starred in two commercial films and started a high-profile relationship with Jude Law in 2003. It was during the filming of the romantic comedy-drama Alfie, a remake of Bill Noughton’s 1966 eponymous movie and its 1975 sequel, that Law and the actress began dating.
The couple got engaged in December 2004 (via PEOPLE). After The Holiday actor issued a public apology to Miller for cheating on her with his children’s nanny in July 2005 (via Sydney Morning Herald), the couple tried to keep it going but ultimately decided to separate in November 2006 (via PEOPLE).
A couple of years ago, in an interview with The Guardian, Miller admitted that her relationship with Law might have kept Weinstein away from her.

Miller had the reputation of a socialite as she would party by the night and come to work by the day. This did not sit right with Weinstein who asked her to come to his office and then shouted at her, which made her cry. It was abuse, but The Girl actress donned it like a badge of honor.
She claimed that she was not scared of him and had no idea that he was s*xually abusing others.
I was not aware that he was r*ping people. He asked for one meeting with me in a hotel, and I brought the other producers and it was innocuous. I’ve never been propositioned by anyone, for a job.
Despite being unaware of Weinstein’s actions, fans must be thankful that Miller managed to escape any abuse by him, regardless of what it was that worked to protect her.
