Gal Gadot gained international recognition for playing the role of the DC Extended Universe superhero Wonder Woman in several films including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

While she made her debut in 2009 with the fourth edition of the Fast and Furious franchise, her role as Wonder Woman is considered to be her real breakthrough. Interestingly, it was the director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League that had a vital role in how Gadot’s character was portrayed.

Zack Snyder details his vision for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman

The Wonder Woman character played by Gal Gadot really stands out from other superheroes in terms of her ideals. She is also arguably the most famous female superhero ever made. Speaking about her character, the director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Zack Snyder revealed how he wanted the character to be. 

During an interview with Wired, Zack Snyder revealed that he did not want the character to be “naive”. Moreover, he also revealed that there is a line in the Wonder Woman movie that was written by him. He said:

“When I started it, I wanted a Wonder Woman that was not necessarily naive. Not necessarily, like, a virgin. Actually, there’s one line in the Wonder Woman movie that I originally wrote. When they’re on the boat and talking about, like, the treatises on sexual pleasure, she says [to Steve Trevor], ‘You wouldn’t like it because it concludes that men, though important for reproduction, are not necessary for pleasure.’ That was my contribution.”

Gal Gadot recalls the challenges she faced while filming Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot appeared as Wonder Woman for the first time back in 2016 in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The character earned so much popularity that there were two solo movies that were released as well. However, the role wasn’t easy to play at all. Speaking about her first Wonder Woman film during an interview with SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Gadot spoke about the challenges she faced during the filming of the movie and said:

“So I remember … in the first one, the first one, the hardest thing that I was dealing with was the cold. Because we shot outside England during the winter, and I was just freezing, like freezing. I remember one night when we shot the scene where we say goodbye, Steve and I were [sic] going through hypothermia.”

Despite the challenges Gal Gadot faced, she played the character perfectly and showed why she truly deserved the role.
