A fresh character is entering the upcoming superhero genre, and it promises to be unlike anything we have seen before. It’s about a fallen angel wielding holy blood against demonic forces.

The movie is a featured adaptation of Avengelyne by Olivia Wilde, Margot Robbie, and Simon Kinberg. To those, who are unaware, Avengelyne is a comic book character created by Rob Liefeld and Cathy Christian in 1995.

Stripped of most angelic abilities, she relies on her strength and her blood (which can be a weapon or a healing source) to fight demons on Earth. The good news is that Margot Robbie herself  is interested in playing the character.

A Dream Team Assembles for the Upcoming Margot Robbie’s Reported Venture

The movie based on Avengelyne has a super talented team behind it. Rob Liefeld, who helped create Deadpool, introduced the awesome angel character back in the ’90s.

Now, the character is preparing to soar onto the big screen under the direction of Olivia Wilde, the acclaimed director behind Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling. But the star power doesn’t stop there. Margot Robbie, known for her iconic portrayal of Harley Quinn, might take on the main role.

And there’s even more excitement because screenwriter Tony McNamara, fresh off his Oscar-winning work on Poor Things, is crafting the script. This dream team isn’t holding back on their big ideas. Liefeld told Variety that the project could really shake things up:

“This incredibly humbling journey to bring Avengelyne to life onscreen started through my relationship with super-producer Simon Kinberg who told me he had a perfect fit for the material and asked me to trust him. Next thing I’m meeting with Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde and the connection was electric! They told me that they wanted Tony McNamara to write it, and after a pair of meetings Tony is onboard and things could not be more exciting. It’s all a result of Margot, Olivia and Simon working their magic to assemble this incredible team of creatives, all intent on creating a cinematic experience like no other!”

‘Avengelyne’ isn’t the only project brewing at Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap. Building on the success of Barbie, the production company has a bunch of exciting projects in the works.

Is This the End of Harley Quinn for Margot Robbie?

In a recent interview with Variety, Margot Robbie talked about what might happen to Harley Quinn in future movies. The Barbie star was asked if she might play Harley Quinn again, especially now that the DCEU series seems to be over and there’s talk of Lady Gaga playing a different version of Harley in the Joker sequel.

Robbie didn’t say she’d never be Harley again, but she hinted that it’s cool for new actresses to take on the role as time goes on (which is something she always thought would be neat for the character). The 33-year-old said:

“I always wanted Harley to be a character that would get passed on to other actresses to play, the way there are so many iconic male characters. That was always the dream for her. Harley’s so fun and can go in so many different directions. You put her in someone else’s hands, and it’s like, ‘What are they going to do with her?’ The options are endless.”
